Light & Sound Show at Mandu

It is to update you all that Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department has taken new initiative to make Mandu visit more meaning full. On Feb 10, 2019, state tourism minister Mr. S. S. Baghel inaugurated the animated sound & light show at Hindola Mahal of Mandu in Madhya Pradesh. It is a visual representation of 1400 years old history of Mandu region which starts from Parmar rulers to Sultanate period. Duration is show is 30-40 minutes. Its pictorial representation helps us to understand the rich past of Mandu when it was popular as “City of Joy”. In his speech Mr. Baghel assured to work hard on enhancing the grandness of popular Mandu Mahotsav, organized every year. He also released the latest brochure of Mandu in which valuable tourist information has been showcased for tourists. Their is proper sitting arrangement for tourists so that they can comfortably enjoy the show.

Mandu is popular heritage tourism destination in Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. It is counted among best heritage tourist destinations of Madhya Pradesh where heritage buildings are in very well maintained condition. Visiting Mandu means spending leisure time at hill station, exploring rich heritage of Malwa region, glimpse of royal past of Mandu rulers. It is just 90 kms South-West of Indore city and well connected by road. Provision of sound and light show will encourage more visitors to stay overnight at Mandu which means more business for hotels located in Mandu. The area which we normally covers in Mandu sightseeing is just a small fraction of its treasure. If properly developed, their are many more monuments, scattered over this region which are still untouched from tourism world.

If you are planning to visit Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, Dhar, Ujjain, Hanumantiya Island, Gandhi Sagar Dam or Indore city then you have the chance to visit Mandu also. It is close from these destinations and thus can be added in tour plan. Similarly if you are visiting Ellora and Ajanta Caves then also you can move further towards north-east direction to visit Maheshwar and Mandu destinations.
