Ralamandal is wildlife sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh. It is close to Indore city and was established in 1989. It is easily accessible from Indore city as it is just at the outskirt of city. Its name Ralamandal is derived from his hill called Ralamandal hills. In past it was basically a private hunting reserve (Shikargah) for Holkar dynasty thus they developed some structures here to stay and do the animal hunting. It those days, maintaining private hunting reserve is trend among ruling dynasties and they often visit these reserves for animal hunting. It was a source of entertainment and some need also when big cats turned into man-eater. At present it is basically a birding destination for people staying in Indore city.
Here tourism activities are very limited due to its small size. Here animal sighting chances are rare but good for bird watching and butterflies photography. Due to its nearby location from Indore thus well connected by road and can be visited in day-time. Here tourists can find some of the commonly seen birds like White-throated Kingfisher, Coppersmith Barbet, Rose Ringed Parakeet, Bay Backed Shrike, Indian Black Drongo, Long Tail Shrike, Eurasian Golden Oriole, Oriental Magpie Robin, Oriental Honey Buzzard, Short Toed Snake Eagle, White Belly Drongo, Green Bee-eater, Laughing Dove, Spotted Dove, Peahen. In addition to this, if luck prevails, we can find animals like Sambar deer, Spotted Deer, Blue bull, Black Buck. In addition to all this, here one small museum is also maintained with rare dinosaur egg-shells and other fossils that recovered in surrounding region.
