How to reach Kanha

Reach Kanha by Flight

Kanha national park can easily be reached by flight option. It is surrounded by some major airports of Central India in which frequently used are Jabalpur airport (180kms from Khatia gate), Raipur airport (240kms from Mukki gate) and Nagpur airport (300kms from Khatia gate). Given distance is as per nearest entrance gates. All these 3 important airports have good flight connectivity from major cities i.e. Delhi and Mumbai. They have connectivity from other popular cities also. Here Jabalpur airport lies in same i.e. Madhya Pradesh state, Raipur airport lies in Chattisgarh state and Nagpur airport lies in Maharashtra state.

Reach Kanha by Train

Train is the most popular and cheap mode of transport in India to reach any destination. Kanha national park can be visited by train option. It is surrounded by some best suitable railway stations, to be reached by train. Here Gondia railway station (140kms from Mukki gate) is the nearest option but this station have limited train connectivity. If tourists are coming from West Bengal, them may consider this option. Second best option is Jabalpur railway station (165kms from Khatia gate) which is mainly used by tourists, coming from Mumbai, Agra, Ranthambore, Jaipur, Delhi, Varanasi, Rajkot, Ahmedabad etc. Sarhi entry gate is also close from Jabalpur. Third best option is to use Raipur railway station (230kms from Mukki gate). Fourth best option is Nagpur railway station (290kms from Khatia gate) which is often used by tourist coming from Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad etc.

Reach Kanha by Road

Kanha national park can be reached by surface transfer. It is located on the south-eastern boundary of Madhya Pradesh with Chattisgarh state on other site. Thus Kanha national park is surrounded by large cities like Jabalpur, Nagpur, Raipur, Bilaspur. In addition to this some small townships are close to it like Mandla city, Balaghat, Bichhiya, Gondia, Seoni, Kawardha. Their is direct bus service from Jabalpur to Kanha national park at long intervals thus it is rarely used by tourists for reaching Kanha. Their is frequent bus service from nearby townships like Balaghat & Mandla. Pench to Kanha

Pench national park is located on the south-west of Kanha tiger reserve. It is one of the nearby wildlife tourism destination which can be visited after Kanha national park tour or vice versa. Traveling from Pench to Kanha national park is easily possible via Khawasa- Seoni - Nainpur - Mocha. This route will take you to Khatia gate side resort. If your hotel is near Mukki gate, then take route as Khawasa - Seoni - Barghat - Lalbarra - Balaghat - Baihar - Mukki. Now if your hotel is in Sarhi gate then take route as Khawasa - Seoni - Nainpur - Chiraidongri- Bamhani - Anjaniya - Bicchiya - Sarhi gate. Road condition and can be travelled at anytime. Their is no direct bus service in between them thus taxi is the best way to travel on this route.

Bandhavgarh to Kanha National Park

Just like Kanha national park, Bandhavgarh is also a popular tiger safari destination thus large number of tourists, travels from Bandhavgarh to Kanha national park. It is a popular travel route among tourists in which you can visit by hiring tourist cab. Their is not direct bus service in between them. This travel route varies as per desired entrance gate. We can travel from Bandhavgarh to Kanha national park Khatia gate as Tala - Umaria - Shahpura - Phool Sagar - Mandla - Anjaniya - Khatia gate. Where as for traveling from Bandhavgarh to Mukki gate, use route as Tala village - Umaria - Shahpura - Phool Sagar - Mandla Bypass - Anjaniya - Bichhiya - Karanjia - Garhi Chowk - Mukki Gate.
