Whenever we talk about jungle safaris, first image come into our mind is a running safari jeep, through the dusty safari trail, with tourists and guide. This image is synonymous to jungle safari word. Here in India, jungle safaris are done in different ways like by using safari vehicles, walking safari, boat safari. Occasionally we will heard about balloon safari also but due to its failed acceptability among tourists, we often avoid to discuss about it. It is one of the most widely used popular safari vehicle, preferred for safari drives in various popular national parks. This vehicle is basically a open jeep category of vehicle in which maximum 08 person can sit. Among 08 person, 06 seats are reserved for tourists, 01 seat is for vehicle driver and 01 seat is reserved for safari guide. Service of safari guide and safari driver are mandatory to use thus front 2 seats are reserved for them. Tourists sits on second row and third row. Although 6 tourists are allowed to sit in each safari jeep but many times it is not convenient as seats size is as per normal person and if you are too much fatty or body size is large or if you are a photographer with good camera kit then you may feel congested. Thus we recommend for 04 tourists per jeep is the ideal way to accommodate tourists and they all can adjust themselves are each corner of seat with camera kit in middle to enjoy the sightings, photography and traveling. The seats of safari jeep are not adjustable or have any push-back system thus they are fixed in one position. They have simple cushioning facility thus during jeep safaris, you have to be mentally prepared for jerks as safari trails are natural pathways, sometimes rocky, sometimes muddy. Despite of all the challenges, jeep safari is most successful and preferred way to explore the forest.
Canter vehicle is simplay a open bus in which we can accommodate 12-18 tourists with 02 guides and 01 driver. As it is an open bus which runs on diesel fuel. In compare to safari jeep, here more tourists can travel in single vehicle thus it is preferred by large group of people and it is also more economical way to do jungle safaris. Here we have to note that canter safari option is not available online. It can be booked offline only, from ticket counter. Here we have to note that Canter vehicle is not available in all the national parks like in Satpura national park, Panna national park etc. Here it is also important to note that Canter vehicle waits for its guests at safari entry gate and do not offer guest pickup & drop from any hotel thus guests have to manage to reach entry gate by own arrangement.
Jungle safari through boat is a very unique concept and can be availed only on those national parks which are having presence of large river or backwater. In Madhya Pradesh, we can enjoy boat safari option in Satpura national park and Panna national park only. At Satpura national park, boat ride can be enjoyed from its Madhai entry gate where as at Panna national park, we can get boat safari chance during safari drive in Madla zone.
