INTRODUCTION

Gulganj fort is located in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. It lies in northern part of state which is popular for its heritage monuments, forts, palaces, temples and cenotaphs. It is a hill top fort thus visible from long distance. It was developed in Bundeli architecture during the rule of Bundela rulers in Bundelkhand region. It was built around 18th century by ruler Sawant Singh. Its name Gulganj is seems to be derived from the name of his wife Gul Bai. While traveling from Sagar city to Chhatarpur city, we can visit this fort. It lies in 240kms north-west of Jabalpur airport, which is best option to reach this garrison.

Best time to visit Gulganj fort is from October to April. In this period, climatic condition remains good and over all tourism of Madhya Pradesh remains high.
