In this section we have made a collection of forts which reflects the glory of ancient Central India region. When we go through the history of Madhya Pradesh and its surrounding region, we will realize that majority of forts are concentrated on Bundelkhand region, Malwa region. It shows that the northern, central and western region of state was rich in heritage building construction. Some exceptions may be found at eastern (Baghelkhand) and southern (Mahakoshal) part of state like Rewa fort, Bandhavgarh fort of Bandhavgarh tiger reserve, Madan Mahal fort of Jabalpur, Ramnagar fort of Mandla etc. Despite of these exceptions, heritage buildings of Malwa and Bundelkhand region is far better and photogenic than Mahakoshal region heritage buildings. Basic region is the availability of construction material, train architects, political stability, strategically importance of that area.
