INTRODUCTION

Madhya Pradesh state in Central India is that part of India where human civilization is present since pre-historic period. Narmada river which has its origin from Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh is believed to be older than Ganges and Himalayan ranges. It is the best place to visit for those who have interest in history and heritage tourism. Just like Rajasthan, here also massive forts and palaces were present in scattered area but due to lack of maintenance and political instability, many of them turned in ruins or in last stage. Still we can visit some well maintained forts in Madhya Pradesh state. Most of the heritage tourism attractions are present in North and West of Madhya Pradesh as this region is rocky, close from Delhi & Rajasthan as rich in raw materials required for buildings forts and palaces. BEST TIME TO VISIT

All these forts, located in various parts of Madhya Pradesh state, can be visited all the days of week from sunrise to sunset. These forts are easily accessible throughout the season, even in rainy days. So one can visit these forts in all the days. Most of the visits have been registered from October to April which is a popular tourism season in Central India as many other destinations like national parks etc. are open in these days, so we can say Oct - Apr is the best time to visit these forts.
