Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Indore

On arrival at Indore airport, take exit from terminal building. Our team member will be waiting for you, with pla-card on hand. Drive from Indore airport to our city hotel. On reaching the pre-booked hotel, just relax and freshen up. As per time in hand, we will do Indore city tour. If interested, we will visit to Sarafa market in late night. It is a eateries lane where we can find variety of snacks food items.

Day 02: Indore - Omkareshwar (2:30 hr) - Maheshwar (1:30 hr)

After breakfast, drive to Omkareshwar, a pilgrimate town on west of the Madhya Pradesh, in Malwa region. It is also called Haridwar of Madhya Pradesh state as it s first look gives same resembelence. It is a Jyotirlinga temple town thus have great importance in Hindu spiritual tours. Indore to Omkareshwar is a south direction drive in which we will pass through many small towns and villages and find the location at hilly terrain.. Here we will visit to Mamaleshwar jyotirlinga temple complex. It is a collection of ancient temples. Later we will cross the holy Narmada river through bridge and visit popular Omkareshwar temple and its adjoining temples. By afternoon, we will drive to Maheshwar, located at west of Omkareshwar, well connected by road. On reaching this destination, just relax at your hotel room. If possible, spare some time to watch the evening sunset which looks very photogenic. In evening, you may visit the town for shopping as Maheshwari sarees are very popular among Indian women.

Day 03: Maheshwar - Mandu (2:00hr)

Maheshwar was one time capital of Holkar dynasty thus here we can find grand fort on riverside location of Narmada river. It is also called Varanasi of Madhya Pradesh. Here we will wake up early in the morning to witness its scenic sunrise and visit to Ahilya Bai fort and ghat area. In order to enhance your travel experience and do photography, take a boat ride and witness this place from different angle. Later do the hotel check-out and drive to hill top medieval fortified town shop of Mandu or Mandav durg. In post lunch session, we will do Mandu monuments. In this session we will try to visit central group of monuments like Jami Masjid, Hoshang Shah tomb, Ashrafti Mahal etc.

Day 04: Mandu

In the 4th day of our tour package, after breakfast, we will begin our Mandu sightseeing. It is a small hill-top township thus calling it city is not correct.  It is basically a fortified township with many historical monuments like Jahaz Mahal, museum, Hindola Mahal, Baz Bahadur palace, Roopmati palace, Jama Masjid etc. Apart from these historical monuments, here we will also notice the presence of Baobat trees. Their presence will surprise us because these are not the natural trees of Central India region but imported from other country. In ancient eras, when merchants visit other countries, they also carry their local seeds and it may be possible that through some merchants, Baobab seed reached Mandu and sown on its soil. Here guide service is highly recommended to better understand the history of Parmara rulers and Malwa Sultanate. Due to large number of monuments, this will be a full-day sightseeing trip in which we will take lunch at our hotel and resume the sightseeing.

Day 05: Mandu - Ujjain

Begin the day with morning sunrise view. From hill of Mandu, sunrise and sunset looks very beautiful thus try to witness this natural event. Later we will have breakfast and begin our drive towards north direction for another ancient living city called Ujjain city. In ancient Hindu books, it is also referred as Ujjaini town or Mahismati Nagar. Unlike Omkareshwar and Maheshwar, this town is not on the bank of Narmada river but on the bank of Shipra river which is contributory to Chambal river of North-Central India. Here most important attraciton is Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple thus we will visit this temple first. After visiting this temple, we will visit to other city attractions like Sandipani ashram, Ramghat, Shaktipeeth temple, Mahakaal corridor etc. Due to time constraint, we will cover the top priorities first and may have to skip some less important attractions.

Day 06: Ujjain - Bhopal (04:00 hr)

On the 6th day of our Malwa region tour, we will take breakfast and drive towards Bhopal city, laying on the East of Ujjain city. It is a capital city of Madhya Pradesh state and also considered as the Eastern end of Malwa region. Due to good road condition with busy traffic, we will try to reach the hotel by afternoon. Just relax and take lunch. After lunch, we will do the excursion tour of great Buddhist pilgrimage site and UNESCO world heritage site calle Sanchi. It is know for its grand stupas and their historical gateways. Here gateways are very artistically carves, showing images that narrates some stories. Guide will interprit these images and narrate the stories for us. Later visit its museum and take further short drive for Udaigir caves site. It is another important rock-art site where we will find rock cut caves, Hindu gods statues in the form of series of caves. Later we will drive back to our hotel in Bhopal city.

Day 07: Bhopal

On this day of tour package, we will do the excursion tours of Bhimbetka rock shelters and Bhojpur temple or Bhojeshwar temple. Both the sites are outside Bhopal city in south direction thus both the places should be covered in one run. After breakfast, we will start our journey, drive towards UNESCO world heritage site of Bhimbetka rock painting site. It lies in Ratapani tiger reserve forest area thus here we have to pay the forest visitor fee. These rocks are visible from long distance, approx 15 km before as they are abnormal natural rocky outcrop on plain hilly surface. Here we will visit all the rocks in a series. Here guides are available thus we recommend to use guide service to better understand the history. Later we will drive to Bhojpur town temple site. It is an incomplete but active temple, dedicated to lord Shiva. After visiting Bhojpur temple, we will drive back to our hotel and relax at room.
Overnight at Bhopal city.

Day 08: Bhopal - Departure

This will be the last day of tour package thus we will take breakfast. If we have spare time in hand then only try to visit Tribal museum, located within city area and later drive to Bhopal airport for departure.
