Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Indore- local visit

Our tour will begin with arrival at Indore airport or railway station. Our team will be waiting for you to welcome and take you to your hotel. Relax at your room. If time permits, we will do the local city tour and take taste of Indore popular dishes at the popular local eateries shops. During Indore city tour, we have opportunity to explore Rajwada (Monday closed), Chatribagh park, Lalbagh palace museum (Monday closed) etc.

Day 02: Indore - Omkareshwar - Mandu

This will be our busy day. Begin the day with morning breakfast and do the check-out. We will drive towards south direction to reach our first jyotirlinga temple site Omkareshwar. It is located on the river bank of India's oldest river called Narmada. Here we will visit important temples like Mamaleshwar jyotirlinga temple complex, Omkareshwar temple etc. We will complete all this by lunch time. Later we will drive towards west direction to reach Mandu. It is a scenic small fortified township at hill top which amazing history. At Malwa plateau, it is like a oasis, one time power center of this region with many good conditioned monuments and associated stories. We are expected to reach this place before sunset thus have chance to witness the scenic sunset view.

Day 03: Mandu sightseeing

In this day, we will do guided sightseeing of Mandu monuments. Here we will find all the monuments are scattered over the fortified region of plateau. These monuments will take us back to Parmara dynasty period (9th to 13th century) when it was known by the name of Mandapa-durga or Mandavgarh. Similarly we will find monuments of Malwa Sultanate  (1401-1562 CE). Collection of monuments includes fort, palaces, mosque, royal tombs, religious school (madarsa), pavillion etc. Here we will also find ruins of Hindu and Jain temples. Here one small museum is also present which can be seen during sightseeing. Along with sightseeing, take photographs of monuments and locations.

Day 04: Mandu - Ujjain

After breakfast, drive to Ujjain. This will be in north-east direction. On reaching Ujjain, relax for sometime at your room and take lunch. Do post lunch half-day sightseeing.

Day 05: Ujjain - Bhopal

If any sightseeing point not covered on Day 04 then we may cover them in early hours of this day. Later we will drive to our hotel in Bhopal. We will target to reach Bhopal hotel by lunch time. Take lunch and do Sanchi stupa excursion visit in post lunch session. Here we will do guided sightseeing of Sanchi stupa park. It is outside Bhopal city at hill top location. It is basically in a park form in which we will find collection of stupas, popular gateways, monastey ruins etc.

Day 06: Bhopal - Satpura National Park

In this day, after taking breakfast, we will drive south direction to reach Satpura national park. Just after leaving Bhopal city, on right hand side we will notice some erected rocks at a hill top, away from main road, surrounded by forested landscape. These rocky outcrops are actually Bhimbetka rock shelter site.

Day 07: Satpura National Park safaris

In this day, we will explore the forest of Satpura tiger reserve in two safari slots. We have to wakeup before sunrise, have cup of coffee and collect our packed breakfast for morning safari drive. Duration of morning safari drive is always more than afternoon safaris. Both the safari rounds have their own importance and advantages.

Day 08: Satpura National Park - Jabalpur

Wake up early in the morning and have a cup of coffee. We will use morning time for boat safari experience. This will be an hour long guided safari which is good for birds and crocodile photography. During summers, we have good chance to see animals near backwater banks and if luck prevails, we may see tiger also. Later we will drive to Jabalpur in Eastern direction. This will be a long drive thus we are expected to Jabalpur city by lunch time or may be later. On reaching Jabalpur, just relax at your room. Do evening visit to Gwarighat area to attend Narmada arti event. It is organized on the river bank of Narmada river, after sunset. It is a 30 minutes photogenic event.

Day 09: Jabalpur - Departure

This will be our last day of tour package. After breakfast, do the room check-out and drive to Bhedaghat. It is outside Jabalpur city. Here we will visit the Narmada river bank which have presence of varying rock system which includes marble, dolomite, phylite etc. Here major points to cover are boatride from Panchvati ghat, Dhuandhar waterfall and Yogini temple. Later drive to Jabalpur airport or railway station for departure.

Here we have shared some important notes for guests, which are related to the given tour plan.

1. Satpura national park is a popular safari destination thus here safari permits should must be booked in advance. This is possible when tour package will be confirmed by guest, at least 120 to 140 days in advance. Advance safari permits booking will ensure good safari experience.
2. Majority of museums, in Madhya Pradesh, remains closed on every Monday and government holiday dates.
