Halali dam is a water tourism site at Raisen district, near Bhopal city of Madhya Pradesh. It was built on Halali river which is also known as Thal river. This river is tributary to Betwa river. Dam was constructed in 1973 with the aim to ensure water supply to surrounding areas for irrigation purpose and house hold consumption. Due to development of dam, a forest cover developed surrounding to encatchment area which offers shelter to many wildlife species like Nilgai, Wild Boar, Jackal, Macaque etc. In addition to mammals, it is a good spot for bird watching and photography. Here some of the commonly seen birds are Grey Francolin, Indian Vulture, Egyptian Vulture, Red-headed Vulture, White Rumped Vulture, Black-headed Ibis, Indian Spot-billed duck, Little Cormorant, Rose-ringed Parakeet, Jungle Babbler, Ruddy Shelduck, River Tern, Yellow Wagtail etc.
