INTRODUCTION
Bagdara wildlife sanctuary lies in eastern region of Madhya Pradesh which is known as prime tiger habitat region. Here majority if forest is spread over Vindhya ranges and plains. This forest is spread over Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh state. Its name Bagdara comprises two Hindi language words "Bagh" means Tiger and "Dara" means home thus overall meaning is "home of tigers". This wildlife sanctuary was established in the year 1978. It was the time when Project Tiger was already launched in India and Indian Government has recognized the need to save tigers along with their natural habitat.

Reaching Amarkantak by Train/ Railways :-
The nearest railhead to Amarkantak is Pendra Road at a distance of 17 km from the heart of the city. Anuppur at distance of 48 km from Amarkantak is also convenient for the tourists. Taxi charges are Rs 300 from Pendra Road and Rs 600 from Anuppur.
Reaching Amarkantka by Bus / Roadways :-
There are state owned transport buses from Pendra Road, Shahdol and Bilaspur. Amarkantak is connected by buses to Jabalpur (245 km), Rewa (261 km) and Shahdol (67 km).
