This will be a busy day for us because we have to cover many interesting places. Mitavali is basically a village site where we will find ancient Chousat Yogini temple on a circular platform.Padavali is an old Shiva temple ruin of 10th century. Bateshwar temple is a photogenic site with collection of many small restored temples. We will complete this excursion trip before lunch so that we can spare time for city points. After lunch, we will cover the Gwalior fort points like Gopachal Parvat stone-carving work, Man Mandir Palace, Teli ka Mandir, Saas Bahu or Sahastrarjun temple etc. Fort is spread over a vast area thus sightseeing demands walking and takes time. On Day 03 of tour package, we will drive from Gwalior to Orchha in pre-lunch session and do local sightseeing in post-lunch session. After breakfast, drive to Orchha. It is located on south-east of Gwalior city. While driving on this route, we will notice that route passes through Uttar Pradesh state. Road condition is excellent. On reaching Orchha, just do the check-in and freshen up. Take lunch and get ready for guided sightseeing. Orchha is a small town on bank of Betwa river. It was one time capital town of Bundela dynasty thus we will find marks of history in the form of historical buildings with different stories thus guide service is necessary. Here we will cover Rajmahal, Jahangir palace, Bundela cenotaphs, Ram Raja Mandir (active), Chaturbhuj temple (active) and Laxmi Narayan temple with painting art. For visiting these points, we have to be physically fit because we have to walk with guide, cover multi-storied palace building thus be mentally prepared for walking. In this day, we will drive from Orchha to Khajuraho. Both the destinations are in Madhya Pradesh state but route passes several times through Uttar Pradesh state. This will be south-east dirction express way traveling thus vehicle will move fast and we will comfortably complete the journey. Expressway will bypass the enroute towns thus we will not drive through enroute towns like Mauranipur, Alipura, Nowgong, Chhatarpur etc.
If you are early riser then try to spend morning time around Betwa river bank to enjoy the morning peace and slow life of Orchha town. Due to small township, vehicle movement will be very less in morning thus good time to take a walk and reach the river bank area. Later take breakfast and drive to Khajuraho. This will be a journey from Bundela dynasty region to Chandela dynasty region. Both the dynasties were not existing in same period. Chandela rulers ruled impressively in 9th to 12th century and developed many temples in Khajuraho region where as Bundela dynasty came later on. They registered their strong presence in period of 16th centry to 19th century.
We will reach our Khajuraho hotel by lunch time. Just take lunch and relax for sometime. In evening, we will not drive to temples but go for Adivart tribal museum visit. Next day morning will be for temples visit. It is a magnificent place to witness the tribal lifestyle and culture of that part of Madhya Pradesh which will not be covered in our main tour plan. On the basis of our guests feedback, we recommend you to visit this museum. It remains closed on every Monday and government holidays. If interested, attend sound and light show, at venue of Western group of temples complex. It starts after sunset and give your first hand information about history of Khajuraho temples. You may skip it if feeling tired and want to relax at room.

Begin the day with early morning breakfast and rush to Khajuraho temple sightseeing. This will be a guided tour to get answers to obvious questions like when these temples were developed, who developed them, what is the significance of erotic sculpture at ancient temples, how was the society in that period, why multiple temples were developed, how raw material arranged etc. Morning is the best time of the day to visit these temples because they are east facing and sunlight directly falls at temples entrance gate. These temples are a reflection of Chandela dynasty period in which temple making was considered as the duty of rulers thus multiple temples were developed during lifetime of different rulers.Today only few of them are prevailing and available for sightseeing. Here we will cover Western, Eastern and Southern groups of temples. Majority of temples are in Western group collections. During the visit, take photographs, as per your choice. After completing the temples sightseeing, we will drive back to the hotel for lunch and take a rest for sometime.
In the post lunch session, we will do an excursion trip to the Raneh fall site. It is approx 24 km from the town area. It lies in Ken Gharial Sanctuary thus a forest guide will be allocated to us, during our visit. This site is basically visited to see Ken river canyon, from one point and try to locate Gharials. Here we can also do birding. Here ancient basalt rocks of different colours are also important attractions. Overnight at a hotel in Khajuraho.

Chanderi is a historical township, developed due to its strategic location on trade route. It fall on the route which connects the Eastern India region to West Indian ports. This is the reason why the handloom industry developed here. Its location was on the border of Malwa region and Bundelkhand region thus at Chanderi, we will notice mixed architecture in ancient buildings.Today’s township is a later developed area whereas the old township was named as Budhi (old) Chanderi. On visiting them we will clearly notice the religious division in buildings. Old town was dominated by Jain community temples where as current township is dominated by Muslim community buildings. On reaching the resort, take lunch and relax at your room. Do evening visit to Badal mahal and local shops to witness the handloom work and buy Chanderi Sarees. Overnight at a hotel in Chanderi.
