National parks in Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh is not only a heart of India, due to its physical centralized location but also due to its forests areas. It is believed that almost 30% of the area is occupied by forests thus given shelter to many rare and endangered wildlife species at their natural habitat. Here forests areas are mostly spread on two important hill ranges which are called Satpura range and Vindhya range. Satpura range runs in north-west direction where as Vindhya range goes in north-east direction. Popular national parks of Madhya Pradesh like Kanha national park, Bandhavgarh, Pench national park, Panna national park, Satpura national park are spread on these ranges. Thus from wildlife conservation point of view, these hill ranges are of great importance for us. Here wildlife regions are managed by Forest Department of Madhya Pradesh which regulates all wildlife rules and controls the wildlife tourism of state. This means all jungle safari rules are implemented by state forest department through which they exercise there control over wildlife tourism in state. Here we can find many tiger reserves, national parks and wildlife sanctuaries.

Tiger Safari in Madhya Pradesh

Wildlife in Madhya Pradesh

Majority of wildlife tourists, traveling national parks have one most common objective to see tigers at there natural habitat. Similar is the objective of inbound tourists, visiting India from countries like Britain, America, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy etc. At present, in India, tigers population is increasing thus its availability is ensured from North India to South India, including the North-East region of India. Thus we can find healthy tiger population in states like Assam, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan. Still when it comes to tiger photography, which is possible due to good tiger sighting, central India is mostly demanded by tourists.

Endangered Species Home

Apart from much popular big cat i.e. Royal Bengal tiger, here some more endangered species are getting shelter and maintaining their presence. One such species is hard-ground Barasingha (Swamp Deer). Out of 3 sub-species, this sub-species was on the verge of extinction but due to planned and persistent efforts of Madhya Pradesh forest department team, they successfully revived its population and saved them from extinction. Now we have reached the level when these hard-ground barasingha were shifted to other tiger reserves also like Satpura tiger reserve, Bandhavgarh tiger reserve to spread them at those forests where they were present in past. Similarly other species like Indian Gaur, Wild Dogs (dhole), Fishing Cat etc are also present forests areas of state.
