Rule of British India at various parts of Madhya Pradesh is an integral part of state history. Here major entry of Brithshers was noticed after Anglo- Maratha war in 1818 in which they won important territories and for next few years, they continue to intensify their hold over different territories. Later they introduced cantonment areas to strengthen their control and developed a proper ruling system to manage their terrotries in a planned and disciplined way.
