INTRODUCTION

Bhadbhada dam is a popular place to visit during Bhopal city tour in Madhya Pradesh. It is a 11 sliuce gates dam made on south-east corner of Upper lake. It was constructed in year 1965 with the aim to control the overflow of lake water to Kaliasote river. While doing Bhopal city tour, lake is the central attraction for tourists and city is established surrounding to this lake. If we will notice the location of Bhopal city on a geographical map, we will notice that there are many small and large dams in and around Bhopal city. The nearest railhead to visti this Bhadbhada dam site is Bhopal Junction and Rani Kamlapati railway station (code: RKMP). Both the stations are locate in city area thus visitors can easily get all means of transport from railway station to this dam site.

Reaching Bhadbhada dam by Bus / Roadways

For those, who are visiting Bhopal city by bus, may reach Inter-state Bus Terminus (ISBT) first. It located in Bhopal city area thus conveient for visitors to reach this bus stand and do further journey by taxi or auto-rickshaw or tuk-tuk service. As mentioned above, dam it located on Upper lake which is part of Bhopal city. Thus temperature chart of Bhopal will be applicable here also. BEST TIME TO VISIT

Bhadbhada dam is best visited during monsoon season when water level increases in Upper lake and on few dates, gates get open to release the excess of water to Kaliasote river. Otherwise, visitors can visit this place as picnic spot in any season of the year.
