Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival - Bhopal - Sanchi Excursion

Our tour begins with arrival at Bhopal airport and transfer to city hotel. Here we are giving a night stay so that our guest will not miss the chance to cover nearby UNESCO world heritage site i.e. Sanchi Stupas. In post lunch session, we will take a short excursion trip to Sanchi. It is a small township popular due to presence of Buddhist stupas in this region. They are located at a small hilltop, in a closed campus. Here we will do guided sightseeing to get information on Mauryan dynasty, making and restoration history of stupas and the stone-cared stored at the gateways of main Stupa. Also cover the visit to Sir John Marshal (archeologist) house where he stayed and overlooked the restoration work. Later drive back to Bhopal city.

Day 02: Bhopal - Satpura National Park (Madhai- 3:00 hr)

After breakfast, we will drive to Madhai gate side of Satpura national park. If interested, we will do enroute visit of Bhimbetka rock shelters site. It is a UNESCO world heritage archeological site within Ratapani tiger reserve forest, about 07km inside from main route. Here we will visit the rock shelters and notice its strange natural rock cutting and rock paintings.
We will resume the drive to Satpura tiger reserve. It is one of the most popular forest on Satpura range knows for its rich biodiversity in terms of plants, insets and mammals. This tiger reserve is larger than Pench tiger reserve thus here we will spend more time and cover its two different areas to get better forest exposure. We will choose Madhai gate first to experience jeep safari, boat safari and walking safari. Thus more activities can be done here. In post lunch session, we will do evening jeep safari.

Day 03: Safaris at Satpura National Park (Madhai)

We will do morning jeep safari drive. For this we will carry our own breakfast tiffin box, cross the Denwa river by boat and then begin our jeep safari. Here tourists take breakfast at a designated spot, inside the safari area. It is normal practice because morning safari duration is long and by the time we will return back to our hotel, breakfast timing get over. After lunch, we will undertake boat safari drive. It is offered on per hour basis and booking is done in same date. This will be a motor boat with forest guide and we will cover the backwater area which is considered as a core zone forest. This will be a best way to enjoy birds photography, watching them on various small islands and also see the marsh crocodiles. If luck prevails, tiger and other animals may also be seen on river bank areas.

Day 04: Satpura National Park Madhai - Bheemkund Gate (02:30 hr)

In this day, we will take experience of walking safari. It is operated in buffer zone in which boat will take us to a pre-decided point and we will leave the boat and begin our walking safari. We will be acompanied by our forest guide. For this carry your camera, water bottle, binocular etc. Walking distance varies as per capacity of visitors. Usually tourists do walking of 4-6 km and then return back to boat. Thus its duration is comparatively smaller than jeep safaris. We will quickly take our breakfast and do the check-out so that we can drive (02:30 hr) Bheemkund gate side of Satpura national park. It is another popular safari gate for jeep safaris with slightly different topography. In post lunch session, we will do our first jeep safari through Bheemkund gate. Local people popular call this region as Churna forest because a government rest house with the name of Churna is existing in this forest.

Day 05: Safaris at Satpura National Park (Churna)

Day 06: Satpura National Park to Pench National Park (05:30 hr)

After breakfast we will take a taxi transfer to Pench national park. This will be a south-east direction drive in which we will pass through some scenic hilly terrains, countryside views, small townships. Both Satpura and Pench tiger reserves are well connected through wildlife corridor but still we will notice some topographical difference like Pench forest will seem more dry-deciduous forest with prominence of teak forest. Some variation in species may also be noticed like Pench forest don't have Black-bucks presence where leopards are more frequently seen here. At Satpura forest, we may not see jackals in jeep safaris but at Pench forest they are easily be seen. After taking lunch, we will undertake our evening jeep safari drive.

Day 07: Safaris in Pench National Park

Day 08: Safaris in Pench National Park

Do morning and evening jeep safaris. Here we will change the safari zones so that we will get better exposure to this tiger reserve and increase our animals sighting probability.

Day 09: Pench National Park to Nagpur Airport Departure (02:30 hr)

After breakfast, drive to Nagpur airport for departure.
