INTRODUCTION

Pachmarhi is a popular tourist retreat. It is located in Madhya Pradesh, India. Pachamarhi is a hill station of Madhya Pradesh. Chauragarh is the second highest peak. After the arduous climb, devotees are charmed with thousands of trishuls stacked in the temple courtyard. During the festivity of Nagpanchami and Mahashivratri, devotees flock here in large numbers, heaving up these massive trishuls as offerings. One will be amazed to see the cluster of trishuls stuck in the temple ground as a way to offer obeisance to the Lord. Witness the gleaming mountain streams tumbling down the steep slopes to give rise to cascading waterfalls all along the way to the temple. The temple’s magnificence would make one believe in the fact that beauty and tranquility are commonplace where God resides. It also has a pool of natural water, a naturally formed shivling and a pathway for the pilgrims to ease the walk. Chauragarh temple lies in Pachmarhi hill station which is a small town on Satpura mountain ranges. It is surrounded by forest of Satpura national park. By Flight: Nearest airport for reaching Chauragarh temple in Bhopal's Raja Bhoj airport (230kms). It is well connected and most preferred one, by tourists. Second option is Jabalpur Airport (260kms) and third option is Nagpur Airport (300kms) and it is also well connected.

By Train: Those who want to travel to Chauragarh temple by train option may consider Pipariya railway station. It is the nearest railway station to Pachmarhi. Next option is Itarsi junction.

By Road: Pachmarhi is a hill station so final journey towards Pachmarhi is by road option only. It is well connected by Pipariya, which is also the nearest town for this hill station. Bus and jeep service is available from Pipariya to Pachmarhi. Those who are reaching Bhopal, Jabalpur or Nagpur by flight/train option, can undertake further journey by taxi option.
