Madhya Pradesh state have many wildlife sanctuaries but Nauradehi is largest one in state. It is one of the leading wildlife sanctuary in which tiger population is growing rapidly and very soon it will gain important place in tiger safari destinations map of India. It is basically lies in junction of 3 major districts at central of Madhya Pradesh which are Sagar, Damoh and Narsinghpur. It has wildlife corridor connection with Panna tiger reserve thus its habitat and demography is some how similar to Panna forest but comparatively it is more plain. Here tourism is possible through jeep safari drives. At present online permit booking facility is not available so tourists have to manually visit the ticket counter and do the booking for them. Here tourism is at its initial stage thus accommodation facilities are also very limited to forest department rooms. Despite of these initial tourism challenges, we recommend for Nauradehi wildlife safari. Here we have tried to answer why to visit Nauradehi wildlife sanctuary by highlighting its prominent safari features.
Here we will try to study various reasons to visit and explore Nauradehi forest. This will be helpful in taking tour decision.
Now a days, wildlife lovers face severe problem of safari permits issue. Many times it is not possible to make a confirm a plan, 120 days in advance. When we delay the confirmation, we face the unavailability of safari permits in popular zones. Here at Nauradehi, due to less tourism, struggle for permits is less and we can at least expect to get safari permits, even if we plan in last 5-10 days. Thus good for last moment planners.
Nauradehi forest is basically of dry deciduous nature and region is rocky. Due to these physical features, here vegetation is different from Kanha national or Bandhavgarh, some how matching to Panna tiger reserve. Here region is more plain with good visibility of animals thus safari and photography experience will be good.
Nauradehi forest have tigers but this forest is not popular for tiger. Its main attraction is wolves population. Now a days, wolves sighting is rare than tiger or leopard thus this forest is special for wildlife lovers.Mascot of Nauradehi wildlife sanctuary is Wolf, thus here we can find its easy sighting. In addition to this, we can have sighting of various antelopes whose sighting is again not easy at any other national parks of Madhya Pradesh. Here we can have sighting of Chinkara, Black buck, Nilgai etc. Other rare species sighting includes Hyena, WIld Dogs (dhole), Sloth Bear, Jungle cat, Rusty spotted cat etc. Other safari attractions are Indian monitor lizard, freshwater crocodiles, fresh water turtles etc. Here corcodiles have presence in Bamner river and Chakaikund nala.
Unlike popular tiger reserves, where departments are in race of increasing price on every season basis to restrict common man for wildlife tourism, here at Nauradehi, a common man or middle class tourists can have scope to visit forest and enjoy the jungle safari experience. These wildlife sanctuaries are hope for our society to remain connected with wildlife and support wildlife conservation. Otherwise the way, tiger reserves are monetized, large part of Indian society is cut off from wildlife thus it will have adverse effect on support for conservation practices.
