Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Nagpur Airport - Pench National Park

Our tour package will begin with your arrival at Nagpur airport. Our team member will be waiting for you at terminal exit gate, with pla-card of your name. Once pickup is done, you may choose to have a cup of coffee first or may drive directly to Pench national park. This will be a short journey of approx. 02:30 hrs in which we will take exit from Nagpur city and pass through local villages with views of agricultural farmlands, small townships etc. On getting closure to tiger reserve areas, we will find dense forest on both the side of highway. At anytime you drive, highway will remain busy with cargo trucks or lorries movements. Before 10 km, from Pench national park safari area, we will leave the highway and enter into a single lane road with tiger reserve area on both sides. Here getting down from vehicle is not permitted due to safety reasons. On reaching your resort, just relax and do the preparations for next day safari drives.

Day 04: At Pench National Park

Do morning and night jeep safaris. Doing at least one night safari is worth to undertake. As per our experience, night safaris done at Khawasa buffer zone will be a good experience. Often tourists have seen the movement of tigers, leopards, sloth bear, jungle cat, Indian hare etc.

Day 05: Pench National Park - Bandhavgarh National Park (07:00 hr)

On this day, we have planned the taxi transfer from Pench national park to Bandhavgarh national park. If we want, we may add a morning safari of Pench national park and then leave the resort or may start the journey, just after breakfast. This will be a smooth journey due to good road conditions and scenic views of forests, rural India. This journey will offer various scenic view of changing topography, rocky arid zones, green agricultural farmlands, tribal people villages to fossil rich belts. During this long transfer, we will take journey breaks at suitable places for washroom and tea-break. We will reach Bandhavgarh by evening hours. On doing check-in, just relax and do safari preparations.

Day 06: Bandhavgarh National Park

Do morning and evening jeep safaris. It is a historical tiger reserve with very prominent marks of human presence in the form of ancient temples, rock-cut caves, huge statues, rock-cut waterholes, small fort ruins etc. Till 1968, this forest was a private property of Maharaja of Rewa (Baghel dynasty) and later came into the hands of Indian government. Here animals sighting will be frequent so always remain ready with our camera. Due to high tigers density, we can expect different tigers sighting in same safari round. Apart from this we will have sighting of other wild animals like Indian Gaur, Leopards, Sambar deer, Spotted Deer, Indian Jackal etc.

Day 07: Bandhavgarh National Park

Do morning and evening jeep safaris. Attend morning & evening safari drives. In addition to mammals sighting, you can also enjoy bird watching in Bandhavgarh. Some of the commonly seen birds are Shikra, Kingfisher, Rufous Woodpecker, Brown-headed Barbet, Serpent Eagle, Lapwings, Cattle Egret, Jungle Babbler, Herons, Vultures, Stork, Ibis, Honey Buzzard, Red Jungle-fowl, Indian Grey Hornbill, Malabar Pied Hornbill (at fort hill) etc.

Day 08: Bandhavgarh National Park

Day 09: Bandhavgarh National Park - Jabalpur - Bhedaghat (04:30 hr)

On the 9th day of tour package, we will not do anymore jungle safari. After relaxed breakfast, we will take taxi drive to Jabalpur. It lies in south-west of Bandhavgarh. In this journey, we will pass through a plateau area which offers unique rocky topographical views, low density of population, a different kind of silence due to poor vegetation on rocky surface. Such a silence is highly enjoyable as it takes us away from hustle and bustle of our life and makes us introspect that life can enjoyed even with slow movement, with limited resources. On reaching Jabalpur city, we will cross the city area and drive further 25 km to reach Bhedaghat village which is popular for its marble rock through which India's ancient river Narmada passes through. If we reach Jabalpur city early, we may opt to first go to our city hotel, drop the luggage, freshen up, take lunch and then drive to Bhedaghat. If we are short of time, then drive directly to Bhedaghat and take lunch at tourism department hotel. Here we will do the boat ride, ropeway ride and if time permits, do any ancient temple visit. After completing everything, we will take 45 min drive to Gauri-ghat or Gwarighat river bank, in city area, to witness soul touching Narmada arti. A very photogenic event of 30 minutes to witness Hindu priests worshiping the oldest river of India, surrounded by large number of devotees. Worshipping true nature in this way is a unique moment to be witnessed.

Day 10: Jabalpur - Airport drop

This will be the last day of tour package. If we will have some free time in hand, we will do some local city visit and later drop to Jabalpur airport, to catch flight for departure.

1. Here we need to decide the number of safari nights and tour extensions as per ongoing animals sighting trends. Due to change in sighting trends, we may have to reduce number of safaris at one national park and add more safaris at other national park. It is a tentative tour plan. As per situation, we will make changes in plan to make it more result oriented.
