
INTRODUCTION
The Bhopavar Jain tirth is located on the bank of River Mahi and is only 15 kilometers from this sacred place. The Bhopawar Jain Temple is dedicated to Lord Shantinath, the sixteenth Tirthankara of Jains. The main tourist attraction of this place is black colored Idol of Bhagawan Shantinath which is 3.64 meters high and standing in a Kayotsarga position. This place is renovated many times. There is a magnificent work of is done inside the temple and also the beautifully painted paintings are the main tourist attraction of this temple. Tourist and devotees comes from all over the country to see the famous idol of Bhagawan Shantinath and in search of a peace and do worship. The old name of this city is Bhojutnagar. Bhagawan Shantinath is popularly known here as Kala Baba or Bamanadev. This is a holy place and it is believed that the statue of Bhagawan Shantinath is belonging to the era of Bhagawan Neminath. It is also believe that this place is of full of miracles. Once upon a time a Black Cobra was appeared suddenly and cuddles the idol of Shantinath Bhagawan and stayed there number of days till the devotees show the devotion to the idol. Another story related to this place is that Princess Rukmani of this place, who was the sister of Rukmankumar, was left by the Lord Krishna and war is started between the lord Krishna and Rukmankumar. Krishna has won the battle and Rukmankumar decided to stay here and later founded this city and constructed a huge and marvelous Jain Temples. Local tribes and Bhils of the local area are devotees of this place and come here to sing the local songs of God to show the devotion of them towards the God. Another popular tourist attraction of this place is an annual fair held here every year on Paush Krishna and thousands of pilgrims gather to worship here. There is no other temple in the area nearby.

The nearest railway station is locate at Indore city which is nearly about 12 Kms from this holy place. Local autos and taxis are easily available from railway station to reach this sacred place.

BEST TIME TO VISIT
Bhopawar Jain temple is a holy place thus every time to visit is best time to visit. Still if you are visiting this place as a tourists then September to March is the best time to visit in which climatic condition is good and you will enjoy the visit. This temple lies in Malwa region thus in summer, temperature reaches 45°C in daytime so it becomes challenging to do outstation tours.
