Khajuraho is a popular heritage temples site located in the northern Madhya Pradesh. During the construction of these ancient temples, this region was part of Chandela dynasty. It is part of Bundelkhand region which was know its rocky topography and arid climatic conditions. If you are coming from Delhi then you need to drive for 510 kms south of Delhi to reach Khajuraho temples site. Similarly if you are coming Mumbai then our drive will be in north-east direction. During the rule of Chandela dynasty, Khajuraho was almost on the central of kingdom as they were controlling the region from Banda ( in Uttar Pradesh) to Saugor city  (in Madhya Pradesh). Its road connectivity is very good thus one can easy reach this site by taxi vehicle from destinations like Agra, Orchha, Gwalior, Bharatpur, Lucknow, Bandhavgarh, Sagar, Mahoba. 

Geographical location

As mentioned above, Khajuraho lies in Bundelkhand region. Major mountain range of Vindhyachal lies in south of Khajuraho temples site. It was major source of stones, minerals and metals in this region. Its location was decided by due consideration and calculations. Here engineers considered the sources of stone and water as major factor to decide the location for making of temples. Prasence of Khudar river makes this location suitable for human society to settle down and make this region flourishing with different activities. Region of Bundelkhand lies in the border of central India and North India region.
