Full moon night boating is not a every month activity. It is offered to visitors only once in a year, during celebration of Narmada jayanti festival. Usually its exact date is determined as per Hindu lunar calendar, usually falls in January month. During this event, musical night is organized at Bhedaghat to praise the presence of holy Narmada river in this region and paid thanks to god. In this night, local management may or may not offer moon night boating. Overall conclusion is that it can't be assured in advance. Local management takes decision as per local conditions thus decisions may get changed in last moment. For tourists, our advice is don't travel with assured boating plan and be mentally ready for its suspension decision.

Why night boating is not allowed ?

If you will travel the Bhedaghat region, you will realize that at boating track, passage path is narrow with erected rock on both the sides. At some points, we may find rock within water flowing park and forms island like structure. Presence of such solid rocks poses risk of any accident as due to narrow passage, water flows fast. Under such situation, if visibility will remain poor or less then doing boating may be a reason for invitation to accidents which may cause human causalities. Thus considering visitors security on priority, usually management team remains in denial mode.
